Therapeutic Yoga

Are you ready to move towards better health and wellness? Therapeutic Yoga is a particularly effective practice for those recovering from, or living with injury or illness. Therapeutic Yoga blends restorative yoga (supported postures), gentle yoga, breath work, hands-on healing, and guided meditation techniques combined in such a way that it is an excellent choice for those who need something gentle yet effective for bringing the body into balance and reducing stress. Therapeutic Yoga is a deeply meditative experience - it provides the opportunity to step away from the busy outside world and access the deeper wisdom that resides within ourselves.

Therapeutic yoga is a branch of yoga which focuses on people with mental and physical conditions. It acknowledges that yoga is a valuable healing art, and that some people are unable to attend conventional yoga classes due to physical limitations or a lack of awareness about yoga. Certified practitioners of therapeutic yoga bring the ancient tradition of yoga to environments like physical therapy centers, workshops for trauma victims and hospitals in the hopes of reaching people who may be able to benefit from practicing therapeutic yoga.

Yoga therapy is a developing branch of Yoga and can be used with a psychotherapy program, physical therapy program and a wellness program. Formal certifications in yoga therapy are not offered in many regions of the world, which means that patients need to be careful about whom they work with as a yoga practitioner. Make sure that adequate training and qualifications were met so a truly beneficial therapy will grow for you.

Therapeutic yoga also makes an excellent Business Yoga or Beginning Yoga style, with the postures becoming more challenging, depending on personal ability. Similar to Beginner Yoga and Business Yoga, therapeutic yoga creates flexibility, releases happy endorphins and increases relief with physical ailments and discomforts.
